Alice Elizabeth Dennis BEM GTCL LTCL (PftT) FISM (née Larner) is a popular piano and singing teacher and is the Musical Director of the University Plymouth Choral Society.
She has recently moved down from Aberdeenshire to Penzance in Cornwall (after working there since 1990) leaving her post as Musical Director of Haddo House Choral & Operatic Society and the two award winning young Haddo Voices choirs. She was also the founder and Artistic Director of the Haddo Arts Festival.
A fully qualified conservatoire trained pianist and singer, Alice opened a new teaching practice in Penzance in September 2017.
She has an unprecedented success rate with pupils of all ages in exams, auditions and performances.
She has over 30 years experience of teaching aspiring musicians and has helped many gain access into conservatoires, colleges, universities and stage schools.
She is an experienced choral conductor having taken rehearsals and conducted concerts and operas at Haddo House since the early 90s. All the non-auditoned choirs she led won competitions locally and nationally.
She is a member of the professional body the Incorporated Society of Musicians (Private Teachers Section), and The Association of Teachers of Singing (AOTOS), is fully DBS checked and was recently honoured with the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s 90th Birthday honours for Services to Music in Aberdeenshire.
